June, 26, 2001 | Sign the Guestbook | Email Announcement PRINCETON, Iowa — Services for Kristine N. Simmons, Princeton, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Nelson Heesch Funeral Home, LeClaire. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Princeton. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Simmons died Monday, June 25, 2001, at her home. Kristine Nikke Oostendorp was born Dec. 10, 1953, in Davenport, to Daryl and Gladys (Woodall) Oostendorp. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1972. She married Freddie Ray Simmons on June 9, 1973, in Eldridge. They celebrated 28 years of marriage. Until her illness, Kris enjoyed her job at Casey’s Store in Princeton and all the local customers. In her free time, Kris enjoyed writing short stories, watching Hawkeye football and spending time with her family, especially her baby boys. Memorials may be made to the family. She is survived by her husband, Freddie Ray; daughter and spouse, Amy Lynn and Earl Bell, Davenport; son and spouse, Freddie Ray Jr. and Amy Hawley, Princeton; mother, Gladys Simmons, Davenport; grandchildren, Savon and Devon Bell, Davenport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine and Michael Graves of Oregon and Susan and James Long, Bettendorf; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Pat Simmons, Davenport, and Terrence and Tim Simmons, Davenport; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alfred and Jean Simmons; sisters-in-law and spouse, Vikki and Ronald Nelson and Dorothy Simmons; brother-in-law and spouse, Richard and Wendy Simmons; and good friends, John and Bambi Rankin. She was preceded in death by her father, two nieces and a nephew.
